AQUA-NOVA AB, Sweden

was formed by Lars-Eric Elander to unite new developments with more than 30 years of experience in WFI distillation and clean water systems.
The Elander family company AB Hafer was active within the pharmaceutical sector since 1947.
Already in the 1960s Hafer provided classical multi-effect distillation in Scandinavia. In 1980 the 1st multi-effect still of our own design was introduced under the Hafer name, thereby eliminating many of the disadvantages of high steam velocities and fall film heat exchangers.

With the founding ofAQUA-NOVA®, the aim was to further develop water distillation, incorporating new technical solutions. This has e.g. lead us to the creation of a unique water system producing ultra clean water for microbiological research and cellular cultivation.

We have always worked in close cooperation with our clients to adapt the equipment to the conditions at site. Comprehensive advice and support is given to the client for optimal performance of delivered installations.

In 2007 Sofinn SA (www.sofinn.com) and Mr Lennart Kärrberg (through his company Kärrberg Konsult) acquired 50% each of Aqua-Nova AB. 

Mr Kärrberg - a recognised specialist in thermodynamics - holds together with his partner Magnus Bolmstrand 67% of the Swedish manufacturer Ekström & Son (www.ekstrom-son.se), specialised in the design and production of advanced heat exchangers. AQUA-NOVA® is headed by its founder Mr Lars Eric Elander, with long and extensive experience of pure steam generation. The acquisition of Aqua-Nova was motivated by the important synergy obtained by the combined know-how of AQUA-NOVA®, Sofinn, and Ekström & Son.
